5. escarpment: a steep face at the edge of a plateau or other steep area
6. malaria: disease that is spread through mosquitos and other insects.

JW #9: Record and analyze the following African proverb: "Until the lions produce their own historian, the story of the hunt will glorify only the hunter." What do you think this means? How would the lion's point of view differ from the hunter? Who could the "lion" and the "hunter" represent? 1/2 page
